Lovely day in the yard.

Lovely day in the yard.

My first profession was as a landscaper/gardener. I love nature, spend lots of time out here. Plants, animals, weather, earth. Goodness.

Older now, and a few “careers” later, I still love pulling weeds, digging soil, trimming plants, planting plants—eating plants—I grow some of my own food. Today, a rainy day, with a tropical depression afoot, I got to turn off all the A/C, open windows, work in my yard, and dodge the bands of rain.

Mug the cats, eat food. Coffee YES! Enjoy the rain hitting the tin roof on my back porch extension. Nap. Good stuff.

Thinking back, when I eventually made it into college, turns out I was pretty athletic. I never sought to be, or thought myself so. But that kind of work, landscaping/gardening, is very athletic, and I was in great shape.

Working in the yard, getting tired, dirty, stinky, is so healthy for me. I get to work out, then clean up and rest. Life at its fullest. Real wealth. Sports, productivity, cleanliness and rest. All mine!

It’s been a lovely day in the yard.

Thanks for the visit. Please share this if you like. See you next time!

Clarity, unity, organization, action. Let’s not fail where it counts.
