Another Week, Another Sunday.

David-daily

Sunday marks the end of the week for me, which also marks the beginning of the week for me. Its a cycle, not a destination. But time itself, just is. Reflecting on this past week, small progress was achieved, and I’m still here. Huh.

I look back on what I’ve done, and question the cost of unguarded honesty. But I am willing to pay that cost, my interest being in what is real, and that doesn’t happen by way of lying in the name of manners and decorum. Today’s piece was going to be called: “Do (The) People Learn From Mistakes?” That’s the third one stacked up now, waiting for a later release.

But about that question, do the people learn from mistakes? I don’t think so. Some do, most do not. Speaking for myself, I continue to do stupid things, like bang my knee on my desk, because the floor in my office is so bad, the wheels don’t always move when pushed. Band goes the knee. I’m just fucking stupid; I get angry about it, but unless I fix the broken floor, and take whatever measures needed, I’ll keep hitting my knee on the damned desk. Its me. Do I learn?

Apparently not.

And that’s a little thing. What about big things. I’m pretty “hard core” when it comes to the bigger things. Yet, most of us are. Those get the attention. The little things though, like my desk floor/knee dilemma, that’s private, except for sharing it.

I think the thing to do here, is to not worry about it. There are always things not ideal, always things that can be “better.” Always something. Always. So poop on that. I’ll keep attending to what matters most to me, and not worry about any of it. I expect that’s the best route for each of us.

So when I’m impatient with the world not falling into line with what “I” think it should be, that’s my problem, and one I’m choosing not to worry about either.

This keeps me free to attend to things that cannot wait, and must not be let go: injuries of the innocent, by bad people. For me to do that, I’d have to give up being an American, which I’m NOT willing to do.

There isn’t an America, without Americans.

Clarity, unity, action.

We need to organize.

Don’t fail where it counts.

Stay American.
