Fall is coming, sort of, to Tampa.

David-daily

We had a “cold front” come through yesterday. Uh, when I say cold front, I mean I saw it on the news, but it wasn’t cold at all. We got less humid.

In Tampa, Florida, fall happens late, if at all. And winter? Well, uh, um, yeah, about that, every decade or so, we’ll get some legitimately cold weather. Mind you, we have cold winters, but its from humidity, not low temperatures.

I loved it when it would snow in DC. The air got quite, and it felt warmer. I suspect that warmer feeling was due to the even lower humidity.

We made a spring break trip to Tampa, from DC one year, to work on Habitat for Humanity project here in Tampa. My classmate (The American University) complained about how cold it was in Tampa. Yup. Wet is cold, even when temperatures are not so low.

I’m looking forward to cooler weather. Say around November 1st. It doesn’t reliably cool off until November. And last year, it wasn’t until December.

I like sleeping with windows open. I get to hear random traffic on nearby Interstate 275. City noises are comforting noises for me. I grew up with them. When I lived in rual Georgia, three things stood out: you could see lots more stars, the nights were really quite, and what noises I’d hear were from nature, not traffic and people.

I love how time keeps going, the seasons. Life is good when I live it. So regardless of people who are trying to re-define reality, according to their own little opinion of things, reality goes on unaffected. We’re okay, so long as we beat the bad people back out of our lives. They stink it up, so we get rid of them.

Happy fall season! Enjoy our home, Earth, and all her nature.

Thanks for the visit. Please share this if you like. See you next time!
